Items for sale are located in Blue Ridge room 230 (Technology Center). If you have items for sale, place them in this room WITH CLEAR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS. If you choose to purchase something, follow that seller’s instructions or find them to ask questions. Please don’t take items out of the room unless you have purchased them or are removing them in order to purchase them.
The sellers will appreciate going home with fewer items, so take some time to visit the room today.
We have T-shirts and tote bags still available. Each item is $25. Don’t need an item for yourself? Consider surprings a workstudy participant or an intern with a gift. You will find items for sale on the 4th floor corridor. Please make a notation of your purchase on the list provided. Thank you!!!!
Thursday
The faculty concert is tonight in Coulter Auditorium at 7:30 pm. Coulter is labeled on the map in your check-in packet. If you want to walk there, it’s level surface until stairs at the building. There’s parking near Coulter at the auditorium level if you prefer to drive. The faculty will be performing music spanning the Medieval period to the 21st century. The concert is free and open to the public!
Friday
Classes Friday will run on a different schedule. See the weekly schedule (above) for the exact times. Check your classrooms for personal belongings before you leave that classroom for the last time today.
Friday’s Participant Recital will be in CONFERENCE ROOM A at 2:45 pm. Participants should bring the music and instruments they need to perform their class selections. MUSIC STANDS WILL BE PROVIDED.

Missing someone this year? We have some cards for you to sign on the 4th floor corridor. These are several of our regular attendees or faculty who weren’t here this year. Let us know if there’s someone else you’d like us to send a card.
We have extra Big Blow & Bow books for sale for $5 each. We prefer cash or check, but you may also pay via PayPal. Jody will have the extra books at the Participant Recital and at the Big Bow & Blow Friday evening.

CHECK-OUT INFORMATION
To help housekeeping and conference staff, please make sure you have all of your belongings, take your trash (and any recycling) to the dumpsters at the end of the Blue Ridge parking lot, make sure your room is clean, and place used linens on the bed. Towels should be left in the center of the floor.
Return your key and key card to Chrissy and her team at check-out in the Blue Ridge first floor lobby between 7-11 am on Saturday. Your key deposit will be returned to you then, or you can donate it to the Mountain Collegium work study fund.
Please complete a workshop evaluation. We want to know everything! Be specific and help us improve the experience for everyone.

Dinner tonight (and ALL meals) will be in the Catamount Cafe (also known as Courtyard Dining Hall). You can follow the crowd to dinner or check out the MAP here.
Tonight’s Big Blow and Bow will be held at 7:15 pm in the Blue Ridge Conference Room, 1st floor. Bring your music stand, instruments you’d like to play, and a pencil to experience the first sounds of the workshop! We’ll also have our workshop orientation during this time. Please enter Conference Room A from the outside entrance on the side of Blue Ridge facing the interior of campus.
Following through with a favorite tradition, the opening Ice Cream Party is Sunday evening after the Big Blow and Bow session.

Barbara Stark and David Lawrence are offering an impromptu help session for iPad users (and other tablets) at 5:00 Monday and Tuesday on The Bridge. If you’d like some help learning to better use your tablets for music reading, Barbara and David are pros!

Wednesday
Janie is offering a pop-up session in bowing techniques 1:00-1:30 today. This is for old-time and jig rhythm and will occur in Blue Ridge 102. Have some fun fiddlin’ around!
Garklein Choir meets at 5 pm today–BUT ASSUMING THE WEATHER IS NICE, WE WILL MOVE THE REHEARSAL OUTSIDE UNDER THE BRIDGE. Please help spread the word. After the rehearsal, we will move into the courtyard between Blue Ridge and the dining hall to perform. You may appreciate bringing earplugs if you have them! The overtones can be quite intense! In any case, we plan to move outside for the “performance.” Those not participating in the garklein choir are welcomed to enjoy the dulcet tones of this oft-misunderstood imp of the recorder world by listening from the Blue Ridge balconies or the courtyard. WITH COMPLETE SERIOUSNESS—WEAR EARPLUGS! We have earplugs to share (well, you’ll have your OWN unused pair that we do NOT want returned to us!!).
Garklein Choir music is in the 4th floor corridor (actually on the floor) where the sign up sheets are, or you can download the Garklein Choir music electronically from the same folder where you found the Big Blow and Bow book.
Check the 4th floor hallway between the elevator and The Bridge for sign up sheets for student-led ensembles (Wednesday night) and Garklein Choir (Wednesday afternoon).
