Patricia Halverson

Patricia Halverson, viol, is a founding member of Chatham Baroque. As gambist in the ensemble, she has enjoyed a career of more than 30 years of performances in Pittsburgh and across the country, as well as performances in Canada, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. A fruitful collaboration with Dorian Records produced seven recordings, followed by three additional projects recorded and produced by Chatham Baroque. 

Patty holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Early Music Performance Practice from Stanford University. At Stanford, she studied viol with Martha McGaughey, and following the completion of her degree, continued viol studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. In addition to ongoing work with Chatham Baroque, Patty coaches ensembles and teaches privately in Pittsburgh.  She has served as a faculty member at viol and recorder workshops, including the Mideast Early Music Workshop, Viol Sphere 2, Madison Early Music Festival, Music on the Mountain Viol Workshop, and the VDGSA’s annual conclave.
